Speech-Language Therapists

Christi Kobelan, M.S., CCC-SLP

 

Christi was born and raised in Texas.  She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Speech Pathology at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  She has worked at From the Heart Therapy Services since 1999.  Before coming to FTH, Christi worked with children and adolescents with emotionally disturbed difficulties at treatment facilities in Austin beginning in 1982.  She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and a Texas License to practice speech pathology.  Christi is trained in P.R.O.M.P.T. and Hanen Parent Training. She has specialized training in MNRI(Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration), eating/feeding disorders to include food aversion and Shelia Frick's Therapeutic Listening. Christi also has training in Beckman Oral Motor Therapy, Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, and craniosacral therapy.  She has years of experience working with children and adolescents with sensory processing disorders, and children with Autism.

 

Christi has four boys of her own, Walker, Wyatt, Dodge, and McCord, with two of them still in college. She adores her two pet dogs, Macey and Malibu who swim at the drop of a hat. Christi enjoys almost all athletic activities. She will workout anytime she can, loves Zumba and has taken up road cycling as her most recent accomplishment. Christi likes to sing and often sings her way through therapy. She plays the piano albeit not very well. Christi loves the sun and the ocean and will go to the beach any chance she gets.

Dana Ehring,  CCC-SLP

Dana was born in California and moved to Texas for the first time when she was in high school. She got her Bachelor’s and her Master’s Degrees at Texas State University. She continued to live in Texas and worked in a public school setting until 1988 when she returned to California and began working in a private clinic with Occupational and Physical Therapists. She went to Boston for 3 years and worked in a clinic there and then returned to Pismo Beach, California to be near her aging parents. Upon moving there she opened a private practice sharing space with Occupational Therapists. After 15 years and her parent’s passing she moved back to Texas to be near friends and family.  She has worked at From the Heart Therapy Services since August, 2020. She has spent her entire career working with children and adolescents many of them with Sensory Integration and Speech issues. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and a Texas and a California License to practice speech pathology.  Dana has attended over 50 hours of training in Sensory Processing Disorders and the effects they have on Speech and Language.  She has specialized training in Sheila Frick’s Therapeutic Listening, Patricia Wilbarger brushing protocol and Hanen Parent Training as well as Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking Programs. 

In her over 40 years of being a Speech Pathologist she has treated a wide range of Speech challenges.
