Christi Kobelan, M.S., CCC-SLP
Christi was born and raised in Texas. She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Speech Pathology at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She has worked at From the Heart Therapy Services since 1999. Before coming to FTH, Christi worked with children and adolescents with emotionally disturbed difficulties at treatment facilities in Austin beginning in 1982. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and a Texas License to practice speech pathology. Christi is trained in P.R.O.M.P.T. and Hanen Parent Training. She has specialized training in MNRI(Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration), eating/feeding disorders to include food aversion and Shelia Frick's Therapeutic Listening. Christi also has training in Beckman Oral Motor Therapy, Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, and craniosacral therapy. She has years of experience working with children and adolescents with sensory processing disorders, and children with Autism.
Christi has four boys of her own, Walker, Wyatt, Dodge, and McCord, with two of them still in college. She adores her two pet dogs, Macey and Malibu who swim at the drop of a hat. Christi enjoys almost all athletic activities. She will workout anytime she can, loves Zumba and has taken up road cycling as her most recent accomplishment. Christi likes to sing and often sings her way through therapy. She plays the piano albeit not very well. Christi loves the sun and the ocean and will go to the beach any chance she gets.
Nazli K. Blackwell, M.S., CCC-SLP
Nazli is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and completed her undergraduate degree from the College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin. Following graduation, Nazli pursued her passion of singing and songwriting for three years before returning to Austin to take prerequisite courses in Communication Disorders. While taking these courses, Nazli was introduced to Christi Kobelan at FTH, and spent the subsequent year learning from her extensive knowledge and skills. Nazli was accepted into the graduate program at The University of Texas at Dallas, and graduated with her Masters in Communication Disorders. She gained experience in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing facilities, public schools, as well as pediatric and adult outpatient settings. Nazli worked in the public school setting immediately following graduation with both elementary and high school students. Her caseload included students with Autism Spectrum Disorder; Down Syndrome; Fragile X Syndrome; Stuttering; Intellectual Disability; Learning Disability; Childhood Apraxia of Speech; Dysarthria; Phonological/Articulation disorders; and Specific Language impairment.
Nazli holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association as well as a Texas License to practice speech-language pathology. In addition, she is a member of the Texas Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Nazli recently moved back to Austin and is newly married. She is ecstatic to have the opportunity to be back at FTH where her passion for speech therapy blossomed, and to work alongside some of the best therapists in Austin! In her free time, she and her husband enjoy live music, cooking, hiking, and spending time with family.
Natalie Rahimpour, M.A., CCC-SLP
Natalie graduated in May 2013 with her Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida. She continued her studies at UF and graduated in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology where she gained clinical experience working in a movement disorders and neurorestoration clinic, pediatric outpatient facility, center school targeted for students with disabilities, and a skilled nursing facility. She began her career as the lead speech language pathologist in an Elementary school in Gainesville, FL working with children with articulation disorders, language impairments, Down Syndrome, Autism, learning disabilities, hearing impairments, Attention Deficit Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and is licensed to practice speech language pathology in the state of Texas.
Natalie moved to Austin in 2017 and began working at From the Heart Therapy Services. She is excited to work with a team of enthusiastic therapists who strive to achieve exceptional patient outcomes. When not working, Natalie enjoys hiking, trying new recipes, and working on her art.
